Can what I eat make me feel sick?
If you have a food allergy, you may feel sick after eating the food to which you are allergic. Symptoms of a food allergy can include:
- Tingling or itching in your mouth
- Itchy skin
- Swollen lips, face, tongue, and throat
- Nasal congestion
- Abdominal pain
- Dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting
If you feel like this after eating certain foods, you could have a food allergy. You can only prevent the symptoms of food allergy by avoiding the food. After you have identified the foods that give you an allergic reaction, you must remove them from your diet.
How do I find out which food is making me feel sick?
Blood tests are needed to determine if you have a food allergy.
