Pregnancy Testing

Pregnancy Testing

What should I know about pregnancy tests?

So, you think you’re pregnant? Know for sure. Blood testing is more sensitive than urine testing, and is able to detect pregnancy 7-12 days after conception making it a beter option than most home urine pregnancy tests. Both blood and urine tests measure human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which is a hormone produced in the body during pregnancy.

HCG levels rise quickly during the first trimester of pregnancy and then decline slightly. Compared with urine pregnancy tests, blood testing also has the advantage of determining the lead of hCG in the blood, which can provide particularly useful information for your doctor about your pregnancy.

How can I get tested?

You can order your own blood test to confirm your pregnancy right now, without consulting a health care provider. Simply choose our Pregnancy Test, pay for it and our board-certified physician will authorize you to have the test performed. After you order the test, you will receive a laboratory requisition in your email that you can bring with you to more than 50 convenient HNL Lab Medicine locations where we will draw your blood for testing.

When your results are ready, we will let you know. Your test results are secure, confidential and available to only you. You can choose if you want to share your results with anyone else, including your doctor. Please note, we do not accept insurance at this time.
