Liver Function Profile (MHD1402)
This profile evaluates how well your liver is working. Certain illnesses and medications can affect your liver function.
Anyone who wants to check that their liver is functioning properly. The liver's job is to produce protein and clear bilirubin, a blood waste product. When your liver is damaged from toxins such as medications and heavy alcohol consumption, it releases enzymes into your bloodstream. Liver function tests can evaluate how well your liver is working, and also measure enzyme levels that could indicate liver damage.
Abnormal liver function test results do not always indicate liver disease.
If any of the tests in this profile have abnormal results, you should follow up with a health care provider.
- Alkaline phosphatase
- Direct bilirubin
- Total bilirubin
- Total protein
