Infectious mononucleosis, commonly called mono, is a viral illness. Mono is spread through saliva, so it is often called the kissing disease. While it is most common in young people, anyone can get this illness.
Symptoms
Symptoms can include:
- Fever
- Sore throat
- Swollen lymph glands
- Sometimes you may also have a swollen spleen. Serious problems are rare.
