Who may benefit from this test: People without symptoms of COVID-19 such as:
People who are required to provide a negative test result for travel, by their employer, school, healthcare provider, or take part in another activity.
People who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 (including those who do not have symptoms within ten days of their positive test result).
People who have been in high-risk situations of viral transmissions, such as travel, large social gatherings, or being in crowded indoor settings.
People who live or work in a high-risk environment such as correctional facilities, nursing homes, or homeless shelters.
Use:
The COVID-19 PCR test is used to detect an active infection with SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. PCR tests work by looking for the virus’s genetic material in a test sample, most commonly taken by swabbing the nose or throat. Molecular PCR tests analyzed by a laboratory are considered the most accurate method of diagnosing COVID- 19.

If you DO NOT HAVE SYMPTOMS, the COVID PCR Test is collected at selected HNL Lab Medicine locations.

View your easy-to-read results online in your HNLLabTestsDirect account. For certain results that require prompt attention, you will also be contacted by phone or mail.
